About
I began Kinected Canine in 2016. I was an agility addict at the time and saw a need for canine massage therapists. Since then, Kinected Canine has guided me on a journey she never could have imagined. I have been licensed as a human massage therapist since 2018, and works/ed primarily in medical massage. The rabbit hole continued when I realized how complex the pain experience is!
That led me to pursue an M.S. degree, and now a PhD. I am in my 3rd year at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in the Psychology department with a social-personality focus, and developmental and neural networks minors. I study how individual differences and environmental contexts influence the chronic pain experience in both dogs and (human) adolescents. I also have specialized training in education at the college level. My hands-on clinical, teaching and research experience combine to give me a unique perspective on how we can recognize and address pain in our most beloved companions!
